At a business meeting held on Thursday, November 10, 2022, the group voted on a proposal to remove the following from the stated requirements for someone to serve as secretary for the meeting:
- Must have at least one year of sobriety.
The reason for this proposal was that this might unfairly preclude newcomers from volunteering to serve, which is a core part of working a successful program. After brief discussion, there was no dissent and the motion passed with a unanimous vote; the group literature has been updated and, while we won’t have elections for several months yet, this paves the way for new members to take more active roles in our meeting.
